Essential: mhGAP training.
Desirable: Postgraduate training in Psychiatry.
Experience
Essential: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Doctor or in clinical practice.
Desirable: Prior experience in mental health services is a strong advantage.
Desirable: Previous experience of regular clinical supervision is an added benefit.
Language Skills
Essential: Proficiency in English and Bangla.

Knowledge & Skills
Essential: Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
Apply medical expertise to diagnose, prevent, and manage illnesses, conducting both outpatient and inpatient consultations and prescribing treatment in line with MSF medical protocols.
Clearly inform patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and care processes, ensuring understanding and informed consent.
Monitor the progress of hospitalized and IDP patients through daily rounds, consultations, and examinations, adjusting treatment as required and determining discharge or referral in collaboration with other physicians.
Ensure the rational use, quality, disinfection, and sterilization of medical equipment and supplies, maintaining compliance with hygiene and infection prevention standards.
Contribute to the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, promptly reporting medical complications, errors, or operational issues to the line manager or project coordinator.
Support the effective functioning of medical departments, including equipment and material management.
Provide ongoing training and capacity building for medical and paramedical staff to enhance the quality of care.
Ensure strict adherence to MSF medical protocols, universal precautions, infection prevention and control measures, and professional confidentiality.
Supervise and manage staff under direct responsibility in accordance with MSF HR policies, including performance oversight, duty rosters, shift planning, and participation in emergencies and on‑call duties when required.
Organize and deliver mhGAP‑based mental health care for individuals with moderate to severe mental health conditions under the technical supervision of the HQ Psychiatrist, MHAM, or IMS Psychiatrist.
Collaborate closely with project psychologists and counsellor educators, ensuring alignment with MSF’s principle that pharmacological treatment is not provided as a standalone intervention.
Manage mental health pharmaceutical stocks in accordance with the latest approved Standard Operating Procedures (SoP).
Provide support to the MHAM in assessing external mental health service providers, when required.

Salary in accordance with the MSF salary scale (Level 9): BDT 133,500.
Two (2) days of annual leave per month worked, along with medical insurance coverage for the employee and eligible dependents.
Two festival bonuses payable after completion of one year of continuous service.
