Medical Officer

 

• Practical experience in managing occupational injuries and workplace medical emergencies.

• Strong knowledge of labour law provisions related to employee health and workplace compliance standards.

• Proficiency in medical documentation, recordkeeping, and report preparation for audits and inspections.

• Effective communication skills for interacting professionally with employees, management, and auditors.

• Strong sense of professional ethics, accountability, and confidentiality in handling medical information.

• Ability to work independently, manage challenging situations, and perform effectively under pressure.

 

Role Purpose

The Medical Officer will ensure employees have access to prompt, reliable, and quality healthcare by providing primary medical services, handling workplace injuries and emergencies, and promoting preventive health practices. The role focuses on supporting employee health, safety, well-being, and productivity through professional medical care.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide primary healthcare services and treatment to factory employees and staff.

• Operate daily outpatient services at the factory medical centre.

• Provide medical consultations and support at the Corporate Office or Service Centre once a week, as assigned.

• Respond effectively to workplace injuries, accidents, and medical emergencies.

• Identify occupational health risks and implement appropriate preventive measures.

• Conduct pre-employment and periodic health examinations for workers.

• Maintain accurate medical records, treatment registers, and health reports in accordance with legal and audit requirements.

• Ensure adherence to Bangladesh Labour Law, buyer compliance requirements, and applicable factory health regulations.

• Recommend improvements in workplace health, hygiene, and safety practices to management.

• Coordinate employee health-related matters with HR, Compliance, and Safety teams.

• Refer critical or specialized medical cases to external healthcare facilities when necessary.

• Conduct employee awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, maternal health, and disease prevention.

• Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of medicines, first aid supplies, and medical equipment at the factory clinic.

• Prepare medical and health-related reports for audits, inspections, government authorities, and official visits.

• Comply with company policies, safety procedures, and management instructions.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
