  • Minimum 3 (Three) Years of working Experience in I/NGOs with Humanitarian and Development Sectors.
  • Mentally adaptable to stay at Kutubdia Island (an isolated island) in Cox's Bazar District.

Responsibilities & Context

  •  Provide high-quality curative health consultations by following standard procedures: history taking, physical examination, lab investigations, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate medical prescription.
  • Refer patients to the Upazila Health Complex (UHC) if treatment is not available at the Community Clinic, in line with the established referral pathway.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and secure medical records, complete diagnostic and procedure coding, and adhere to data privacy standards.
  • Verify that all necessary materials and equipment are prepared before each consultation.
  • Manage emergency medical cases according to GK protocols and referral guidelines.
  • Data Collection and Reporting
  • Record and report beneficiary data daily, including epidemiological data and details of consultations and services provided.
  • Investigate and report unusual health events or suspected serious communicable diseases following established protocols.
  • Perform daily updates to the reporting board within the Community Clinic.
  • Collaboration and Community Representation
  • Act as GK’s representative in interactions with local communities, authorities, community clinics, and other humanitarian organizations, maintaining a professional demeanor and upholding GK’s reputation.
  • Ensure all medical and nutrition referrals follow the correct referral protocols.
  • Check the immunization status of all EPI-targeted children and pregnant women and refer unvaccinated individuals to appropriate vaccination facilities.
  • Work Environment and Safety
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following established standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, manage equipment supplies, troubleshoot issues, and arrange for repairs as needed.
  • Actively participate in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures.
  • Team Management and Capacity Building
  • Conduct team management activities, including training sessions, workshops, and performance evaluations.
  • Supervise and provide technical guidance to a team of five midwives, with a focus on capacity-building.
  • Participate in a rotation-based duty schedule across five Community Clinics.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper completion of administrative documents and adhere to GK’s internal regulations, engagement terms, and inter-departmental procedures.
  • This role requires dedication to quality healthcare delivery, strict adherence to protocols, strong team collaboration, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and effective work environment in support of GK’s humanitarian mission.
