Responsibilities & Context

  • Provide clinical consultation, treatment, and follow-up services as per BRAC, Ministry of Health, and WHO standards, ensuring patient dignity and appropriate care.
  • Ensure integrated healthcare services for newborns and children across emergency, outpatient, and inpatient units.
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, utilizing history-taking, physical examinations, laboratory and imaging tests, and treatment protocols for acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct daily inpatient rounds, initiate case discussions, monitor patient progress, update management plans, and ensure proper handovers.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of clinical services, optimizing patient flow and emergency care procedures.
  • Provide emergency medical stabilization and arrange safe referrals to higher-level facilities as per BRAC protocols.
  • Establish and manage referral pathways, ensuring safe patient transfers, proper documentation, and follow-ups.
  • Ensure compliance with notifiable disease reporting and surveillance systems, when required.
  • Data Management & Reporting
  • Utilize data collection tools, ensuring that patient records and clinic registers comply with BRAC and Ministry of Health guidelines.
  • Complete all standardized internal reports as required.
  • Support MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) teams by ensuring timely and accurate data collection, audits, and patient feedback mechanisms.
  • Maintain strict patient data protection and confidentiality.
  • Training & Capacity Building
  • Provide medical support, mentorship, and on-the-job training to clinical staff as needed.
  • Coordinate with facility teams, including Logistics, Pharmacy, WASH, IPC, and Maternity units, to ensure seamless healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate with Community Health Teams to strengthen referrals from the community and track patient follow-ups.
  • Coordination & Compliance
  • Maintain effective collaboration with external stakeholders when required.
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings relevant to the role.
  • Ensure adherence to BRAC policies, procedures, and operational controls.
  • Safeguarding & Child Protection
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants, staff, and community members, protecting them from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including SEA (Sexual Exploitation and Abuse).
  • Act as a key advocate for safeguarding policies, ensuring implementation and compliance at all levels.
  • Follow safeguarding reporting procedures and encourage reporting of any concerns or incidents.
