Education


  • Bachelor/Honors, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
  • Diploma, in Intensive and Critical Care Medicine

Responsibilities & Context

  • Patient Assessment and Stabilization:
  • Assess and stabilize critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress continuously.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation:
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
  • Perform invasive procedures, including intubation, central line placements, and arterial catheterizations, as required.
  • Administer medications and adjust dosages based on patient responses and clinical guidelines.
  • Emergency Response:
  • Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions and initiate appropriate interventions to ensure optimal care.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate actively in interdisciplinary rounds and team meetings to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Documentation and Records Management:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments systematically and thoroughly.
  • Continuous Learning and Quality Improvement:
  • Stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in critical care medicine.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the ICU and contribute to the development of protocols and policies to enhance patient care.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the authority.
