  • Should have excellent understanding of technical / production process

  • Should be able to handle MIS entries
  • Must be capable to handle buyers independently in tremendous pressure with aggressive marketing attitude
  • Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures
  • Good understanding of core business aspects
  • Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials booking and delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships and work as a team
  • Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic
  • Strong presentation and delivery skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
  • Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
  • IT proficiency - advanced level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Responsibilities & Context

  • The Merchandiser is responsible for overseeing the entire product development process, from the initial stages of product development and sampling to shipment, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to meet project deadlines and maintain quality standards.
  • key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development: Independently execute the development of knit and woven products, staying up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, sourcing new yarns, and creating customer-specific collections.
  • Communication Management: Ensure smooth communication with customers and suppliers regarding day-to-day merchandising activities and approvals.
  • Fabric and Trims Library: Continuously update the woven and knit fabrics, trims, print, embroidery, washes, and stitch libraries, including technical data and price references for easy access.
  • Customer Requirement Management: Understand customer requirements and collaborate with the design team to ensure correct samples are developed and delivered on time, meeting quality expectations.
  • Task and Schedule Management: Set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress toward goals, and track details, data, and activities efficiently.
  • Factory Coordination: Ensure production and sample follow-ups with factories, ensuring procedures are followed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Approval Communication: Maintain regular communication with buyers regarding day-to-day merchandising activities, including approvals and feedback.
  • QA File Preparation: Prepare and submit QA files on time for both buyers and internal QA teams.
  • Sourcing: Source trims, accessories, and fabrics (both overseas and local) in line with production needs.
  • Costing Preparation: Prepare accurate costing sheets with all necessary breakdowns from factories.
  • Quality Testing Coordination: Arrange lab dips, trims, bulk fabric color, and quality testing for customer approval.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with fabric mills and suppliers to develop new fabrics and finishes ahead of design packs to reduce lead times.
  • TNA Monitoring: Regularly follow up on the Time and Action (TNA) plan to ensure on-time delivery with the right quality and quantity.
  • Factory Visits: Visit factories regularly to gather market intelligence and ensure production quality standards are being met.
  • Quality Monitoring: Coordinate and monitor the quality of the product through regular assessments by quality personnel.
  • Shipment Management: Place forwarder bookings through logistics and track the shipment of products.
  • Ethical Standards: Understand and maintain ethical behavior and business practices, ensuring that your behavior and the behavior of others align with the organization's values and standards.
