  • Experience with firewall configurations and network security protocols.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux systems, and network administration tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software-related issues.
  • Proficiency with cabling, wiring standards, and network installations.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities & Context

  • This is a full-time on-site role for a Network System Engineer at Qcoom in Middle Badda, Pragati Sarani, Dhaka. The Network System Engineer will be responsible for network administration, network engineering, troubleshooting, network security and system administration to ensure seamless operations of our online platform and marketplace.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and VPN networks for optimal performance.
  • Provide technical support to internal staff and resolve IT-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software systems.
  • Ensure proper functioning of network services such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VoIP systems.
  • Monitor network traffic and security to identify vulnerabilities and perform regular security audits.
  • Manage and maintain network documentation and configuration records.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on software installation, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Maintain and monitor server environments, including file servers, email servers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, performance issues, and system failures.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and policies (e.g., firewalls, access controls, encryption).
  • Perform periodic network performance testing and capacity planning.
  • Assist in network design and the deployment of new systems and technologies.
  • Provide training to users on new IT systems and offer technical assistance when needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the installation of new systems and network services.
