Responsibilities & Context

  • Design and optimize production layouts and processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and minimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Develop efficient workflows by designing layouts for equipment, materials, and workspaces using Industrial Engineering (IE) methods and tools.
  • Balance production lines to minimize Work-In-Process (WIP) and improve overall efficiency.
  • Evaluate and grade operators, analyze worker performance, and provide necessary feedback for improvement.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks that delay production schedules, ensuring streamlined operations and process simplification.
  • Investigate low production causes, collect lost time data, and communicate standard operational breakdowns to the production team.
  • Train and upskill workers using clear and effective methods, conduct skill assessments, and facilitate ongoing skill development.
  • Generate and analyze reports on efficiency, capacity studies, Non-Productive Time (NPT), Non-Productive Operator Time (NPOT), floor KPIs, and other IE-related metrics.
  • Monitor worker performance, maintain operator skill matrices, and conduct skill tests for continuous improvement.
  • Track hourly production targets, identify gaps, and take necessary actions to optimize performance.
  • Record lost time (NPT), calculate efficiency, study production issues, and develop productivity enhancement strategies.
  • Ensure quality standards by monitoring Defects per Hundred Units (DHU) and accurately calculating non-productive time.
