Responsibilities & Context

  • Ensure fire and safety compliance as per FSCD, BNBC, and NFPA standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments of factory buildings and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Organize fire safety training in coordination with FSCD, BGMEA, and department heads.
  • Inspect fire equipment daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure full operational readiness.
  • Conduct regular fire drills and evacuation exercises as per legal requirements.
  • Maintain all fire & safety documentation for audits, buyers, and compliance teams.
  • Conduct monthly internal fire safety audits.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of PPE for workers in machines and chemical areas.
  • Manage installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire safety equipment.

Fire Detection System Knowledge

  • Operate and monitor fire alarm control panels.
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults such as open circuit, short circuit, ground fault, NAC fault, and no-response issues.
  • Understand system interfacing with fire pumps, exhaust fans, lifts, fire doors, flow switches, and PA systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and RSC requirements.

Fire Protection System Knowledge

  • Operate and monitor fire pump systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25 standards.
  • Basic understanding of fire safety drawing and system design.
  • Maintain required RSC documentation and compliance records.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support compliance and audit requirements as needed.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.
