• Oversee Daily Operations:
• Manage the daily operations of the Operating Theatre (OT), ensuring smooth coordination of surgical procedures, efficient staff management, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals to ensure the proper preparation and execution of surgeries.
• Staff Management and Scheduling:
• Manage and supervise the OT staff, including nursing staff and OT in-charges, ensuring that shifts are covered and all roles are filled according to the operational needs.
• Implement the staff roster in coordination with OT in-charges and ensure staff follows the roster effectively.
• Prepare and communicate the OT schedule daily, coordinating with surgeons and OT teams to align on priorities and availability.
• Equipment Management:
• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and proper functioning of all OT equipment and machinery.
• Ensure that the operating rooms are adequately prepared for surgeries, with all necessary equipment and supplies readily available.
• Monitor the equipment and request repairs or servicing as necessary to prevent downtime during procedures.
• Patient Preparation:
• Oversee the preparation of patients for operative procedures, ensuring they are appropriately prepared for surgery.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to ensure all preoperative tasks are completed, including patient positioning, sterilization, and anesthesia preparation.
• Implant and Medicine Management:
• Maintain and track the stock of implants, surgical instruments, and medicines required for procedures.
• Oversee the billing and inventory management of implants, ensuring accurate documentation and timely procurement.
• Prepare monthly reports on implant consumption, OT expenses, and any relevant financial data.
• Coordination with Other Departments:
• Collaborate with the emergency department, nursing staff, ward supervisors, and other relevant personnel to implement and support OT workflows.
• Ensure seamless coordination between departments for the effective delivery of patient care and surgical procedures.
• Sterilization and Equipment Autoclave:
• Maintain records for the sending and receiving of necessary equipment and ensure timely sterilization and autoclaving of instruments.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with sterilization procedures and quality control for the safety of patients and staff.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare and submit monthly reports on implant consumption, OT expenses, equipment maintenance, and other relevant operational data.
• Maintain accurate records of all OT activities, including surgical procedures, equipment usage, and staff assignments.
• Compliance and Quality Control:
• Ensure that all OT activities comply with hospital policies, industry regulations, and best practices for surgical care.
• Monitor OT cleanliness, safety protocols, and infection control measures to ensure a safe and sterile environment for all surgeries.
