Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pattern Maker in a reputed Buying Office or Factory.
  • Must have experience in using Optitex software for 2D pattern making.
  • Strong knowledge of general measurement specifications and shrinkage allowance.
  • Experience in Woven and Knit garments, Costing, and Production Marker.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work in a team.
  • Must be well-groomed, smart, and energetic.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on perfection.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Must be proactive, dynamic, and able to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities & Context

The organization is currently hiring for the position of Pattern Maker – Knit, Woven & Outerwear (Optitex) at its head office in Dhaka.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine sketches, sample garments, and design specifications to determine pattern shapes, sizes, and material requirements.
  • Create accurate patterns using Optitex CAD software based on buyer specifications and design requirements.
  • Develop patterns for mass production of garment designs.
  • Perform size grading, marker making, and fabric consumption calculations efficiently.
  • Guide sample makers to ensure compliance with technical specifications during sewing.
  • Provide instructions to factories regarding pattern making, garment construction, and sewing operations.
  • Suggest alternatives and improvements in construction and production methods when needed.
  • Check garment conformity including construction, style, fit, and specifications.
  • Monitor fit, measurements, and workmanship throughout development and production stages.
  • Evaluate samples for fit, proportion, silhouette, seam position, and design accuracy, and make necessary corrections in coordination with the sample room team.
