Responsibilities & Context

  • CAD Standards Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce CAD standards, ensuring the CAD environment is organized and efficient.
  • Marker Consumption Optimization: Calculate the most efficient consumption of fabric for all buyers' orders/styles using CAD technology.
  • Pattern Design & Grading: Coordinate style-wise pattern designing and grading to ensure zero-error cutting and accurate garment production.
  • Collaboration with Merchandisers: Communicate with merchandisers to provide marker consumption (external) and coordinate fabric bookings.
  • Pattern Verification: Verify and check patterns for accuracy, ensuring measurements align with garment specifications.
  • Document Archiving & Inventory Management: Maintain an organized archive of CAD documents and software inventory for easy retrieval and project tracking.
  • CAD User Training & Supervision: Provide training and supervision to in-house CAD users to ensure optimal software usage and best practices.
  • Cost Reduction & Efficiency: Ensure cost reduction by maximizing the efficiency of CAD processes, creating precise and accurate markers.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Perform any other tasks assigned by management as necessary.
  • Buyer’s Technical Requirements: Establish and maintain compliance with all buyer technical requirements, ensuring consistency in product development.
  • Tech Pack Review & Pattern Making: After receiving tech packs from merchandisers, develop patterns, create markers, and calculate fabric consumption, sending the information to the respective department for costing.
  • Fabric-Specific Pattern Preparation: Based on fabric construction, prepare molded patterns for fabric booking and production purposes.
  • Pattern Amendments: Amend patterns as needed based on production feedback or changes in requirements.
  • Fabric Shrinkage Adjustments: Create patterns according to fabric shrinkage reports for sample and production runs.
  • Mini Marker Creation & Reporting: Produce mini markers with summarized reports as per buyer requirements for efficient production.
  • Best Practices Implementation: Implement and maintain best practices in the use of CAD software (Lectra) and pattern-making/marker-making techniques.
