Requirements
Education
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. (BUET/ KUET/ CUET/ RUET/ DUET/SUST graduate will get preference).
Additional Requirements
Project Planning & Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for industrial factory building projects (RCC & Steel Structure), using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Plan and schedule project milestones, ensuring that all tasks are aligned with the overall project timeline and resource allocation.
- Integrate project work breakdown structure (WBS) and define critical paths for the successful completion of the project.
Resource Deployment & Monitoring:
- Ensure proper deployment of EPC contractor resources (tools, tackles, and manpower) to meet project milestones.
- Assess the adequacy of resources to prevent delays and optimize the allocation to achieve key project objectives.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the construction team, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintain strong communication with International Engineering companies and other stakeholders to coordinate project timelines, progress, and milestones.
- Report regularly on project progress, risks, and resource usage to senior management.
- Leadership & Execution:
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills to effectively manage the project team and resolve any project-related issues.
- Provide guidance to team members, encouraging a collaborative work environment.
- Show execution skills to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Challenges Handling & Problem-Solving:
- Proactively identify potential project roadblocks or delays and develop strategies to mitigate these challenges.
- Be resourceful and adaptable, with the ability to address and resolve issues as they arise, maintaining the project schedule.
Drawing & Quantity Surveying Understanding:
- Review and interpret drawings, ensuring all elements of the construction project align with the plan.
- Analyze quantities and perform cost analysis to ensure that project resources are used efficiently and within the allocated budget.
- Risk Management & Mitigation:
- Track potential risks to project completion, identifying any scope changes or delays, and develop contingency plans to handle them effectively.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present periodic reports on the progress of the construction project, including updates on project timelines, resources, and any necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all project planning and scheduling activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in planning and scheduling for industrial factory building projects (RCC & Steel Structure).
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for scheduling and planning.
- Strong understanding of drawings, quantity surveying, and cost analysis.
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor resource deployment.
- Strong fluency in English, with excellent communication skills for interaction with international teams.
- Proven leadership and execution skills with a smart, proactive, and problem-solving attitude.
- Ability to manage challenging situations and ensure the project stays on track to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with international engineering companies.
- Previous experience in industrial factory building construction projects will be highly preferred.
Responsibilities & Context
Project Schedule Development & Maintenance:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and P6.
- Incorporate all inputs (manpower, equipment, and materials) while considering production and construction sequences.
- Regularly update project schedules and adjust based on inputs or delays, ensuring alignment with the project milestones.
Resource Management:
- Develop and update resource histograms (manpower and equipment) on a weekly or monthly basis as required.
- Evaluate resource allocation and provide recommendations to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Coordination for Design & Drawings Approval:
- Coordinate with Head Office, Consultants, and Clients to obtain timely approvals for designs and drawings.
Master Schedule Development:
- Prepare and manage an overall master schedule, integrating the work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Identify critical paths for project completion and ensure proper resource allocation to meet deadlines.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with construction managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Ensure alignment among project teams, sub-contractors, and clients with regard to project objectives and schedules.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Development:
- Work with management and the project team to develop the Work Breakdown Structure for progress measurement, scheduling, cost estimating, and project control.
Progress Tracking & Reporting:
- Track project progress against the planned schedules, generating regular progress reports, dashboards, and PowerPoint presentations for stakeholders.
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
Budget & Cost Monitoring:
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and expenditures throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Identify deviations from planned schedules and propose corrective actions to mitigate delays or budget overrun.
Risk Analysis & Mitigation:
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project schedules.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential schedule disruptions.
Project Meetings & Communication:
- Facilitate regular project meetings to review progress, discuss issues, and prepare Minutes of Meetings (MoM).
- Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to provide updates and address any concerns.
- Communicate effectively on cost-related matters and present reports and recommendations to the project stakeholders.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform any additional relevant tasks assigned by the Management to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in project scheduling, coordination, and cost control within construction or engineering industries.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project and P6 for project scheduling.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, especially regarding project delays or scope changes.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve conflicts effectively.
