    • Group formation and strengthening
    • Facilitation of community-based interventions
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Gender equality and women’s leadership
    • Human rights and social inclusion
    • Community advocacy approaches
  • Experience in:
    • Conducting training, workshops, awareness sessions, and capacity-building programs
    • Working with local government institutions (e.g., Union Parishads), community leaders, and stakeholders
    • Strong communication, facilitation, coordination, and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to work with diverse groups including women, youth, men, and government officials

Responsibilities & Context

 

Project Summary

Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) is implementing the Strengthening Women’s Agency and Knowledge for Transformative Inclusion (SHAKTI) project.

The project aims to improve livelihoods of marginalized communities and enhance leadership capacity of women and youth through active participation of men, women, and youth in coastal areas such as Shyamnagar and Patharghata.

The project is built on two key pillars:

  1. Economic strengthening
  2. Social and leadership transformation

It focuses on building climate resilience, economic empowerment, and inclusive decision-making systems. A key approach of the project is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), which emphasizes identifying and utilizing existing community strengths such as skills, land, resources, and networks.

The project also works closely with Union Parishads and local government bodies to promote transparency, governance awareness, and gender-responsive budgeting through community dialogues and workshops.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation of program activities according to the Annual Work Plan (AWP) in coordination with partners.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing annual work plans.
  • Guide community organizers in conducting training, workshops, and orientation sessions.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, group meetings, and community campaigns.
  • Prepare detailed reports for each event and maintain proper documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and manuals in consultation with the Project Manager.
  • Develop a documentation system for training participants and monitor training impact through follow-up visits and discussions.
  • Maintain communication with host communities, local government, media, and partner organizations.
  • Organize advocacy events involving community members and government institutions.
  • Support formation and strengthening of Women’s Organizations and ensure smooth functioning.
  • Provide leadership, management, technical, administrative, and legal support to Women’s Organizations.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
