Responsibilities & Context

Position: Project Manager (SRHR Project)

The Project Manager (PM) will lead and oversee the Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) Project in Charfesson Upazila, Bhola Sadar, and Dhaka South City Corporation, with a primary base in Charfesson Upazila. The PM will be responsible for ensuring the effective and timely execution of all project activities, including planning, coordination, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, to advance SRHR among adolescents, youth, women, and marginalized communities. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in SRHR, partnership management skills, quality assurance, and capacity development to enhance knowledge, service access, and rights-based practices in both urban and rural low-income settings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to achieve project goals and deliverables.

  • Strengthen collaboration with government health departments, NGOs/INGOs, youth networks, community-based organizations, and private healthcare providers to enhance project impact and sustainability.

  • Supervise and guide the project team to ensure high performance, accountability, and adherence to organizational and donor standards.

2. Planning and Implementation

  • Develop work plans and budgets on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis in line with project objectives and donor requirements.

  • Ensure quality and timely implementation of SRHR interventions, including awareness sessions, behavior change communication, youth-friendly services, referrals, capacity building, and advocacy initiatives.

  • Oversee procurement of SRHR materials (IEC/BCC materials, training resources, and supplies) following organizational and donor policies.

  • Coordinate effectively with finance, logistics, and administration teams to facilitate smooth project operations.

3. Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation

  • Monitor project activities, outputs, and outcomes, identifying gaps and addressing them promptly.

  • Prepare high-quality progress reports (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual) highlighting achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and innovations.

  • Document success stories, case studies, research findings, and best practices related to SRHR in urban contexts.

  • Maintain updated monitoring data, service statistics, and program documentation for knowledge management and audit readiness.

4. Stakeholder and Donor Coordination

  • Act as the primary liaison for donors, government health departments (DGHS, DGFP), city corporations, Upazila and Zila administration, development partners, and local stakeholders.

  • Organize donor visits, joint monitoring missions, and review meetings, ensuring effective communication of project achievements.

  • Build partnerships with health facilities, service providers, youth networks, schools, NGOs, and private sector actors to expand SRHR service access and community engagement.

5. Capacity Building and Team Development

  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to field staff, peer educators, volunteers, and partner organizations.

  • Identify capacity gaps and facilitate training on SRHR, gender, safeguarding, adolescent development, and community engagement.

  • Conduct team meetings and performance reviews to ensure accountability and professional growth.

  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and gender-sensitive work environment.

6. Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all interventions adhere to organizational policies, donor guidelines, national SRHR standards, and safeguarding protocols.

  • Promote rights-based approaches that empower adolescents and women to access accurate information and services.

  • Ensure technical quality of trainings, IEC/BCC materials, community sessions, and service delivery mechanisms.

7. Advocacy and Community Engagement

  • Lead advocacy initiatives with local authorities, community leaders, and service providers to advance SRHR rights, gender equality, and stigma reduction.

  • Support behavior change communication campaigns targeting adolescents, youth, parents, and community influencers.

  • Coordinate community outreach events, health fairs, and awareness campaigns.

8. Emergency and Humanitarian Response

  • Support SRHR emergency interventions (e.g., menstrual hygiene, GBV mitigation, adolescent protection) during crises or public health emergencies.

  • Coordinate with emergency response clusters, health authorities, and humanitarian partners.

9. Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in field visits, coordination meetings, workshops, and relevant forums as needed.

  • Perform additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Primary base: Charfesson Upazila, Bhola District (with travel to Bhola Sadar and Dhaka South City Corporation as required).
