Minimum 4–6 years of relevant hands-on experience combining project management and site engineering responsibilities in dredging, river works, or heavy infrastructure projects.

Practical exposure to IHC Beaver dredgers (Beaver 40/50/65 or equivalent models) will be considered a strong advantage.

Previous involvement in BIWTA or other government-funded projects is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of site execution processes, quantity measurement, and production tracking.

Ability to independently handle and manage project sites under challenging field conditions.

Excellent coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities & Context
Work Location: Project-based assignments anywhere in Bangladesh, with regular reporting to the Head Office located at Hatirpool, Dhaka.

United Progressive Dredging Limited (UPDL) is an expanding dredging and waterway development organization that has been actively involved in river dredging and land reclamation projects throughout Bangladesh since 2014. The company operates three IHC Beaver Cutter Suction Dredgers and collaborates with both government bodies and private sector clients to deliver safe, efficient, and regulation-compliant dredging services.
Core Responsibilities

Oversee the complete execution of assigned dredging projects, ensuring technical precision, production targets, budget control, and on-time delivery.

Carry out site-based engineering tasks such as setting out works, calculating quantities, validating dredged volumes, and coordinating with survey teams.

Plan, supervise, and monitor daily dredging operations using IHC Beaver dredgers, including production planning, pipeline layout, manpower allocation, and optimal equipment usage.

Lead and supervise dredger masters, site engineers, surveyors, mechanics, and support staff at project locations.

Monitor daily output, fuel usage, equipment downtime, and operational performance, and prepare accurate technical and operational reports.

Address and resolve technical, operational, and local challenges at project sites, including liaising with local communities and authorities to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Maintain continuous coordination with BIWTA, port authorities, local administrations, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and regulatory compliance.

Plan and oversee preventive maintenance and timely repairs of dredgers, pontoons, pipelines, and auxiliary equipment in collaboration with technical teams.

Prepare, review, and update work programs, method statements, and progress schedules in line with contractual obligations.

Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards at all project sites.

Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel, spare parts, consumables, and site materials.

Assist the Head of Operations with technical clarifications, measurement of variations, and preparation of progress-related documentation.
