Responsibilities & Context

  • Budget Planning & Financial Monitoring:
  • Review and monitor project budget plans and financial performance, ensuring alignment with WFP financial policies and procedures. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance resource optimization and financial efficiency.
  • Fund & Grant Analysis:
  • Conduct detailed analysis of fund and grant balances, identifying surpluses or deficits. Recommend corrective measures to ensure optimal fund utilization and support informed decision-making.
  • Pipeline Management:
  • Support pipeline management processes by closely monitoring resource flows, addressing pipeline breaks proactively, and ensuring uninterrupted operational effectiveness.
  • Process Improvement & System Enhancement:
  • Contribute to the enhancement of internal financial processes and corporate systems. Participate in the design and implementation of planning tools that improve expenditure forecasting and budget monitoring.
  • System Data Entry & Management:
  • Accurately enter and update project budget plans and revisions in corporate systems to ensure reliable, real-time access to financial data for planning and decision-making.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Compile, review, and analyze financial data. Maintain accurate records and prepare regular and ad hoc reports to support transparency and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders on project fund management and related processes, resolving discrepancies and promoting optimal fund usage.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to support staff in budget planning, fund management, and operational planning to ensure consistency and build team capability.
  • Emergency Preparedness:
  • Follow standard WFP emergency preparedness protocols to ensure readiness for rapid response and effective resource deployment during crises.
