  • A minimum of a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (ME) from a public or reputed private university is required. Upgrading from a diploma in engineering to a B.Sc. is not acceptable.
  • Candidates with qualifications in plumbing courses will be given preference.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, with preference given to candidates with experience in supervising plumbing work.
  • Candidates with knowledge of scientific lab equipment, including installation, will be preferred.
  • Proficiency in REVIT software is highly desirable.
  • Preference will be given to candidates from the Chattogram district or nearby areas.
  • Female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Thoroughly review MEP drawings, with a primary focus on the mechanical and plumbing systems, to identify and resolve any inconsistencies or discrepancies. Coordinate with consultants to address these issues proactively.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of, but not limited to, HVAC systems, elevators, STP, ETP, WTP, generators, plumbing systems, gas lines, fountain systems, and firefighting systems, including their installation.
  • Skilled in reviewing shop drawings and providing site supervision, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with architectural, electrical, and structural requirements.
  • Issue field instructions and address queries efficiently.
  • Maintain the highest installation quality standards for all mechanical components through regular on-site inspections, monitoring, and effective communication with vendors and consultants.
  • Conduct site inspections upon the contractor’s Request for Inspection (RFI) issuance.
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings, equipment submittals, and as-built documentation submitted by the contractor.
  • Review and finalize contractor-submitted bills.
  • Analyze the Bill of Quantities (BoQ) to identify any discrepancies or inadequacies in alignment with the design and drawings provided by the consultant. Prepare schedules for the respective packages as outlined in the tender documents.
  • Perform thorough inspections in coordination with suppliers post-delivery of materials and equipment to ensure that mechanical components meet the specifications outlined in the Work Order or Purchase Order.
  • Ensure the timely completion, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of all mechanical works throughout the project, prioritizing adherence to industry standards and protocols.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D, 3D) and REVIT.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
