Responsibilities & Context

  • Collaborate with the Design team to identify the latest fabric trends and innovations, focusing on knit categories.
  • Develop fabrics in close partnership with fabric mills to meet customer specifications and testing requirements.
  • Conduct fabric risk assessments during the development phase before submitting for quality approval by the buyer and proceeding with bulk production.
  • Perform garment risk assessments in collaboration with the QA team at the pre-production stage before moving forward with bulk production.
  • Ensure that the chemicals used in dyeing fabrics are sourced either from buyer-nominated suppliers or within ZXY’s internal hazardous chemical limits and ISO chemical standards.
  • Address customer comments and take corrective actions, resubmitting for approval when necessary.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluations, declaring yarn count and fabric structure.
  • Liaise with the lab team to ensure that fabric evaluations align with standards, and provide updates to the QAM and merchant teams.
  • Analyze the order sheet and provide a detailed risk analysis for approval.
  • Proceed with the sampling batch and proto-size set (fabrication-wise) after receiving approval.
  • Ensure the fabric meets quality standards, including shade band consistency lot-wise, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Monitor fabric production in the factory, including yarn in-house, knitting, and dyeing processes, updating the QAM and merchant teams accordingly.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure yarn, knitting, and dyeing processes follow the TNA (Time and Action) plan to avoid delays.
  • Review fabric inspection reports and ensure that quality fabrics and PP (Pre-Production) samples match approved parameters.
  • Research special chemical finishes, yarns, fabrics, and dyes for new developments.
  • Develop new fabrics based on fashion trends, working closely with fabric mills.
  • Conduct random inspections of bulk fabric, performing quality evaluations and ensuring the final product meets standards.
  • Visit fabric mills (both local and overseas) to source fabrics as per customer specifications.
