Experience in Outerwear, including pattern making, quality control/audit, and basic knowledge of printing, embroidery, and washing.

Position: Senior Fabric Technologist (Outerwear)
Location: HQ, Dhaka
Job Context
The Senior Fabric Technologist is responsible for managing all technical aspects related to fabrics, applying expertise in yarns, fabric manufacturing, dyeing, and finishing. The role involves conducting risk assessments, guiding factories on critical developments, and working closely with the design & innovation team to source and develop fabrics across Outerwear categories.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure all chemicals used in fabric dyeing comply with buyer specifications, ZXY internal limits, and ISO chemical standards.
Conduct risk assessments during development and pre-production meetings; take corrective actions for customer comments.
Receive and evaluate fabric swatches or original samples from customers via merchandisers.
Perform detailed fabric analysis, including yarn types, weaving, dyeing, finishing, overdye, washing, and construction details.
Declare fabrication, construction, weave, weight, color pattern, repeat size, finish type, and finished width of swatches.
Coordinate with lab teams to align fabric evaluations and update QAM and merchant teams.
Analyze order sheets and provide detailed risk assessments for approval.
Manage sampling batches and proto size sets with approval.
Monitor fabric production, including yarn in-house and dyeing, and update QAM and merchant teams.
Oversee inventory, dyeing schedules, and fabric inspection reports to ensure quality standards.
Ensure timely fabric availability for planned cut dates (PCD) and update relevant teams.
Collaborate with the design team to identify trends and innovations in fabrics.
Research special chemical finishes, yarns, fabrics, and dyes for new developments.
Develop new fabrics based on fashion trends in partnership with fabric mills.
Conduct random inspections of bulk fabrics and evaluate final product quality.
Visit local and overseas fabric mills to source materials according to customer specifications.
