Clinical Expertise: Exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills in high-pressure emergency situations.
Administrative Proficiency: Competent in computer use, particularly hospital-based software such as HIS.
Leadership & Teamwork: Ability to lead, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team under stress.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and staff.
Decisiveness & Composure: Ability to make quick, confident decisions in critical situations.
Resilience & Stress Management: Capable of handling heavy workloads and emotionally challenging scenarios with professionalism.
Adaptability: Flexible and able to thrive in the fast-paced, unpredictable environment of the Emergency Department.
Triage, assess, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of medical, surgical, pediatric, and trauma emergencies in the Emergency Department (ED).
Provide immediate resuscitation and stabilization for critically ill patients, including cases such as cardiac arrest, major trauma, and sepsis.
Perform emergency procedures independently, including:
Interpretation of ECGs and X-rays
Advanced airway management (endotracheal intubation)
Basic Life Support (CPR)
Management of common fractures, shoulder dislocations, and cut injuries
Administration of crash cart medications and Foley catheterization
Make prompt decisions regarding patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Ensure accurate, timely, and legible documentation in electronic medical records.
Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to Junior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and house staff.
Serve as the senior in-charge clinician for assigned shifts, coordinating team activities and resource allocation.
Conduct teaching sessions for junior staff and medical students.
Assist with the orientation and onboarding of new departmental staff.
Participate fully in a shift-based rota, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Ensure continuous senior coverage of the Emergency Department to maintain high-quality patient care.
