- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in nutrition sensitive or community-based nutrition programs.
Technical skills :
- Knowledge of local dietary habits and food culture.
- Skill of photography
- Must have professional writing and speaking capacity in English and Bangla, i.e. monitoring report, field visit report, event report, case study/story, press release, content writing, etc.
- Proficient with MS office suite
- Able to take decision in a timely manner, priorities and multi-task work seamlessly
Responsibilities & Context
PROTTYASHI, a social development organization focused on improving the lives of disadvantaged populations in Bangladesh, is actively supporting the refugee community in Cox’s Bazar since 2017. To enhance food security and meet nutritional needs in an environmentally sustainable way, PROTTYASHI is implementing the "Green Skills Development" activity under the WFP Cox’s Bazar Resilience Programme. The organization is seeking applications for the position of Field Supervisor, who will lead field mobilization efforts, engage beneficiaries, and ensure the project's goals are met. The Field Supervisor will report to the Project Officer and collaborate with project teams and other operational units within the organization.
- Provide support and monitor the implementation of project activities according to the work plan and scheduled timeline.
- Organize and facilitate community-based cooking demonstrations to promote nutritious, affordable, and culturally appropriate meals.
- Develop training modules, recipes, and IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials for beneficiaries.
- Demonstrate meal preparation techniques that meet daily household nutrition requirements.
- Work closely with program participants to influence positive eating habits and food preparation techniques.
- Encourage participants to share acquired knowledge with other members of their communities, ensuring wider dissemination of nutrition-sensitive practices.
- Promote proper hygiene, safe food handling, and storage practices during cooking demonstrations.
- Build the capacity of local women’s groups, caregivers, and community volunteers in improved cooking methods and meal planning
- Engage local leaders to enhance community participation and sustainability of nutrition programs.
- Track attendance, feedback, and impact of cooking demonstrations
- Maintain records of participants, recipes used, and improvements in dietary habits.
- Ensure availability of cooking utensils, ingredients, and other materials required for demonstration sessions.
- Ensure culturally appropriate and locally available food items are used in the demonstrations.
- Document success stories and best practices to share with stakeholders and donors.
- Work with government agencies, NGOs, and donors to align cooking demonstrations with broader food security and nutrition initiatives.
- Monitor the efficient use of funds and resources allocated for cooking demonstrations.

- Salary and benefits: Monthly Gross Salary will be 65,630 BDT with contributory provident fund 3120 BDT, monthly bonus 6250 BDT and regular traveling and communication bill.
