Responsibilities & Context

  • Team Planning and Execution:
  • Develop comprehensive plans for each component of the project, ensuring effective execution in line with project goals and timelines.
  • Child Protection and GBV Intervention Support:
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of child protection interventions, including Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activities such as psychosocial support, case management, community watch groups, women’s leadership groups, CBCPC, and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure smooth coordination and integration of child protection and GBV interventions within the community.
  • Staff Supervision and Capacity Building:
  • Provide supportive supervision, guidance, and technical input to staff to ensure effective performance and achievement of child protection and GBV objectives, contributing to high-quality programming.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions and meetings to build the capacity of staff, parents, CBCPC members, community leaders (e.g., Imams), and adolescent leaders.
  • Risk Assessment and Infrastructure Development:
  • Conduct surveys and risk assessments for Safe Spaces for Women and Girls, as well as Multi-Purpose Child and Adolescent Centres (MPC), identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Assist in the development of infrastructure for child protection facilities, ensuring safety and accessibility.
  • Coordination with Site Management and CiC Approval:
  • Obtain approvals from the Camp-in-Charge (CiC) for relevant child protection issues and maintain continuous communication with site management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Supervision of Child Protection Activities:
  • Provide supportive supervision for child protection activities, including MPC, case management, and adolescent clubs, offering technical guidance to staff to achieve the program's vision and objectives.
  • Field Situation Analysis and Action:
  • Analyze field situations based on field visits and discussions with parents and staff to take immediate actions and assist management in implementing necessary initiatives.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and submit various reports, budgets, and other required documents to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
  • Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain effective liaison with various sectors of HCMP, other BRAC departments, national and international NGOs, and government bodies, particularly the CiC office, to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Support internal and external program visits to ensure transparency and facilitate learning.
  • Administrative and Financial Management:
  • Ensure effective time management for administrative and financial activities, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to deadlines.
  • Compliance with BRAC Policies:
  • Ensure all child protection initiatives align with BRAC’s policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee the safety of program participants, staff, and all individuals interacting with the organization by preventing harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
  • Act as a key support resource for establishing a safe working environment, providing guidance on safeguarding policies.
  • Safeguarding Implementation:
  • Promote, endorse, and implement safeguarding policies among team members, ensuring the safeguarding standards are followed in every action.
  • Ensure the safeguarding reporting procedure is followed if any reportable incidents occur, encouraging others to do the same.
