Additional Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, while 8 years is expected for candidates applying as a Research Coordinator (RC) — including proven experience in managing projects and leading qualitative research studies.
Strong background in designing and conducting qualitative research methods such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, ethnographic fieldwork, and participatory techniques.
Proficient in using qualitative analysis tools like NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or MAXQDA for coding and thematic data analysis.
Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to produce polished research reports, policy briefs, and academic publications.
Demonstrated leadership in managing research teams, overseeing field operations, and ensuring high-quality research that adheres to ethical standards.
Experience in engaging with donors, policymakers, and academic partners, including managing communications across multiple time zones.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Prior experience translating research findings into policy or program recommendations will be considered a strong asset.
Flexible, creative, and solution-focused in handling research challenges and team coordination.
Oversee and manage multiple research projects as delegated by supervisors and senior management.
Coordinate communications with both national and international collaborators, including Principal Investigators (PIs), donors, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Supervise and manage various components of fieldwork as they take place.
Assist in processing, analyzing, and interpreting research data.
Contribute to writing project reports, preparing project deliverables, drafting academic journal articles, and developing grant proposals.
Support capacity-building efforts by mentoring junior and mid-level researchers, and organizing administrative or training workshops during your tenure at BIGD.
Carry out any other project-related tasks assigned by supervisors or PIs.
