Responsibilities & Context

  • Explain sonographic procedures to patients, address their concerns, and prepare them by applying gel and positioning them correctly on the examination table.
  • Ensure high-quality diagnostic images by making necessary adjustments to the sonographic equipment.
  • Select appropriate imaging settings and modify patient positioning as required for optimal results.
  • Monitor and care for patients throughout the procedure, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Analyze and interpret images, identifying abnormalities and deciding whether additional scans are necessary based on preliminary findings.
  • Present sonograms and preliminary findings to physicians for further evaluation and diagnosis.
  • Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including patients’ medical histories and imaging records.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare teams during invasive procedures requiring sonographic guidance.
  • Maintain and clean sonographic equipment to ensure proper functionality and hygiene.
  • Perform basic medical procedures, such as administering oxygen, monitoring vital signs, and providing emergency treatments when necessary.
