  • BSc in Agriculture/ Bachelor of Agriculture Education. Masters in Agriculture/ Masters in agriculture- Marketing.

  • Up to 50 years (Experience-based consideration will be given for age)
  • Must have prior project experience with national and international NGOs, with USAID-funded project experience being a significant advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the development field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in USAID-funded projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results within short time frames and under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments or sections.
  • Strong ability to set priorities, plan, and organize work efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer literacy, application software, internet, and email communication.
  • Good understanding of and commitment to promoting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), with knowledge of related concepts and best practices.
  • Willingness to drive a motorcycle with a valid license.
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills.
  • Willing to travel and work in remote areas.

Responsibilities & Context

The selected candidates will be responsible for overseeing and implementing food security and nutrition improvement programs, with a focus on nutrition-sensitive agriculture.
  • Design and implement food security and nutrition improvement programs to address the needs of vulnerable populations, especially women and children in Bangladesh.
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight in the design, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition-sensitive agriculture programs.
  • Stay informed on global policy developments in agriculture and food security, identifying effective, evidence-based interventions.
  • Lead the development and delivery of nutrition education initiatives and training programs related to nutrition-sensitive agriculture, ensuring alignment with USAID Bangladesh America Maitree Project – BRAC International funding requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance using data-driven insights, and continuously improve initiatives based on lessons learned and evaluation frameworks.
  • Document best practices, success stories, and recommendations to inform future program design and share knowledge with external partners.
  • Collaborate with local and international partners to align activities with global and national food security policies and practices.
  • Assist in the selection of smallholders and resource farmers (RF) based on agro-product needs, gender, and ethnicity.
  • Organize demand creation sessions for smallholders and resource farmers (RF) to foster engagement in the program.
  • Develop session plans and manuals on Climate Smart Agriculture and Organic Farming techniques.
  • Map out authentic and quality input and output service providers at the community level.
  • Establish Climate Field Schools (CFS) as learning centers for Climate Smart Agriculture and provide technical services on increased production.
  • Develop and deliver training on climate-resilient agro-inputs, safe food, food security, and nutrition.
  • Conduct foundation training for project staff on agriculture and food security operations.
  • Demonstrate agro-based climate-resilient plots using adaptive technologies at the PG level.
  • Organize awareness sessions on safe food and nutrition at primary and secondary school levels.
  • Form union-level product collection centers with advanced farmers and conduct quarterly meetings.
  • Develop and implement modules on safe food and nutrition, focusing on innovative practices like using technology in harvesting, packaging, and storage of major crops such as rice, wheat, and corn.
  • Conduct sessions on supply chain and transport syndication to improve agro-product distribution and transportation with PG farmers.
  • Invite input and output actors to collaborate on selling quality agro-inputs and purchasing safe/organic food items.
  • Lead the development of modules on pick and pack techniques for fruits and vegetables, improving transportation systems for fresh produce.
