• Ensure full compliance with the ship management agreement by maintaining effective communication and liaison with clients.
• Keep actual costs within operational budgets, including crew and provisioning expenses, by developing and refining budgeting, cost control, and operational systems for vessels.
• Regularly monitor ship certificates to ensure they remain current and valid.
• Guarantee adherence to local, national, and international regulations regarding vessel maintenance standards and performance criteria.
• Ensure goods (stores, spares) and services (repairs, overhauls, dry docking, agency contracts) meet approved specifications, and arrange procurement as needed.
• Address marine insurance claims swiftly by maintaining clear communication with the commercial team when constraints arise.
• Maintain compliance with shipboard management systems by upholding high safety standards, emergency procedures, contingency plans, environmental protection, and other essential processes.
• Provide adequate shore-based support, ensuring safety and pollution prevention measures are enforced in consultation with the HSEQ/DPA teams.
• Ensure the vessels obtain and maintain all statutory, trading, class certificates (ISSC, SMC, COFR, CSR), regularly verifying their validity.
• Analyze incidents, accidents, and operational reports to implement risk assessments and change management strategies in collaboration with the HSEQ Department.
• Optimize vessel operations by overseeing daily reports, movements, and activities, addressing any concerns promptly.
• Verify the accuracy of ship inventories, including spares, stores, machinery, safety equipment, and firefighting gear.
• Ensure compliance with Class and Flag State requirements by supervising necessary vessel surveys.
• Select the most cost-effective and high-quality repair companies and locations based on vessel schedules and Charter Party obligations.
