Responsibilities & Context

Machine Operation & Setup

  • Operate spinning, twisting, winding, or reeling machines to process fibers.
  • Set up machinery with proper settings based on fiber type, thickness, and tension.

Maintenance & Repair

  • Perform preventive maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and replacing needles or machine parts.
  • Carry out minor repairs to ensure smooth machine operation.

Quality Control

  • Monitor production to detect yarn defects such as uneven thickness or tension issues.
  • Inspect finished yarn to ensure it meets required production specifications.

Material Handling

  • Load raw materials into machines (creeling process).
  • Monitor fiber blending, picking, and carding processes.

Troubleshooting

  • Identify machine malfunctions and investigate production stoppages.
  • Report issues to supervisors or maintenance teams for major repairs.

Documentation

  • Maintain production data, maintenance logs, and lot records in machine charge books.
