Responsibilities & Context
About the Role
Smart Software Ltd. is looking for a motivated and security-focused *Web Application Security Executive* to join our technology team.
The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and helping remediate security vulnerabilities in web applications, APIs, servers, and related systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of web application security, OWASP standards, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and secure coding practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform security assessments of web applications, APIs, and web services.
- Identify and analyze vulnerabilities and security weaknesses.
- Conduct authorized vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Test applications against OWASP Top 10 security risks.
- Identify common vulnerabilities such as:
- * SQL Injection
- * Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)
- * CSRF
- * Authentication & Authorization issues
- * IDOR / Access Control vulnerabilities
- * File Upload vulnerabilities
- * Security Misconfiguration
- * Session Management issues
- * API security vulnerabilities
- Use security testing tools to discover and validate vulnerabilities.
- Prepare clear vulnerability reports with severity, impact, evidence, and remediation recommendations.
- Work closely with PHP/Laravel, React, Node.js, and other development teams to resolve security issues.
- Review application architecture and source code from a security perspective.
- Perform security testing before major software releases.
- Monitor and investigate application security incidents when required.
- Assist in implementing secure development practices and security policies.
- Maintain security testing documentation and assessment reports.
- Stay updated with emerging web application security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
