Responsibilities & Context

  • Establish and maintain effective communication and consultation mechanisms to foster harmonious industrial relations between factory management and workers.

  • Communicate individual and collective worker grievances to management and facilitate their timely and fair resolution.

  • Understand workers’ perspectives and support both management and employees in resolving issues through mutual understanding and cooperation.

  • Monitor industrial relations and proactively intervene during disputes to promote amicable settlements through dialogue and joint consultation.

  • Address wage, employment, and labor-related matters through structured discussions with management and workers’ representative bodies.

  • Promote and support healthy labor–management practices in line with labor laws and organizational policies.

  • Coordinate closely with the factory medical officer to ensure improved healthcare services and treatment for workers.

  • Encourage the formation and effective functioning of Work Committees, Joint Production Committees, Welfare Committees, and Cooperative Societies.

  • Oversee the provision and maintenance of worker amenities, including dining facilities, crèche services, clean sanitation, and safe drinking water.

  • Assist management in administering leave with wages, explain leave-related policies to workers, and guide them in submitting leave applications and managing authorized absences.

  • Guide female workers on maternity leave procedures and benefits, track maternity leave cases, follow up on post-leave return, and monitor the well-being of expecting and returning workers.

  • Recommend initiatives to improve working and living conditions and enhance overall employee welfare.

  • Educate and brief workers on occupational safety and health (OSH), including PPE usage, machine guarding, sanitation, and fire safety practices.

  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by factory management to support organizational and workforce objectives.
