Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in PHP: Strong knowledge of PHP and experience with object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- WordPress & WooCommerce Expertise: Extensive experience working with the WordPress/WooCommerce ecosystem, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Front-end Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (especially jQuery), AJAX, and modern front-end technologies.
- MySQL: Experience working with MySQL databases, writing queries, and optimizing performance.
- API Development: Experience with RESTful and SOAP API integration in WooCommerce.
- Version Control: Proficient in using Git or other version control systems.
- Security Knowledge: Understanding of WordPress/WooCommerce security best practices and potential vulnerabilities.
- Experience with WooCommerce Hooks/Filters: Familiarity with WooCommerce’s hook and filter system to modify and extend default functionality.
- Experience with WooCommerce Subscriptions, Memberships, or Bookings plugin development.
Responsibilities & Context
We are looking for an experienced WooCommerce Plugin Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in developing and customizing WooCommerce plugins, extending functionality, and integrating third-party APIs. This role requires expertise in PHP, WordPress, and WooCommerce’s core architecture, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- WooCommerce Plugin Development: Design, develop, and maintain custom WooCommerce plugins to extend functionality based on business needs.
- Customization: Modify and enhance existing WooCommerce plugins, themes, and core functionalities to improve performance, user experience, and business workflows.
- API Integration: Integrate WooCommerce with external services and platforms (e.g., payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM tools) using RESTful and SOAP APIs.
- Debugging & Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve WooCommerce-related issues, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize WooCommerce websites for speed and efficiency, including improving database queries, caching, and front-end load times.
- Testing & Documentation: Write unit tests for plugins, document technical processes, and provide user-friendly documentation for plugin usage and support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design and marketing teams to ensure smooth implementation of business requirements, and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Security: Ensure all plugins adhere to WooCommerce security best practices and safeguard against common vulnerabilities such as SQL injection and XSS.
