Design, conduct, and monitor controlled experiments and laboratory investigations. Collect, prepare, handle, and test samples while ensuring proper instrument calibration. Accurately record, analyze, and interpret laboratory data. Demonstrate laboratory procedures and techniques to relevant team members when required. Maintain, calibrate, clean, and perform sterility checks on laboratory equipment. Prepare detailed reports, reviews, and summaries based on laboratory findings and data. Use appropriate technical equipment to safely collect blood samples from patients at the center and through home collection services. Clearly explain the blood collection procedure to patients before the process. Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients who may feel anxious or uncomfortable about blood collection. Properly apply dressings to the puncture site after blood collection. Label and dispatch blood samples to designated testing laboratories in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate records of collected samples and monitor test results received from laboratories. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Respond to patient inquiries regarding sample collection procedures and provide additional guidance or resources when requested. Promote a safe and respectful working environment by protecting team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. Serve as a key resource for safeguarding-related guidance, support, and expertise within the team. Promote awareness and adherence to safeguarding policies and ensure safeguarding standards are incorporated into all activities and procedures. Follow established safeguarding reporting protocols and promptly report any incidents that require formal reporting.
