The Earth

The Earth (also widely recognized as The Earth Society) is a progressive non-governmental organization headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh, dedicated to fostering sustainable community growth, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment. Operating under the guiding ethos "Eager to Achieve the Real Thought," the organization focuses heavily on localizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By bridging grassroots action with macro-level environmental and civic strategies, they work alongside major international and national entities—including UNDP, JICA, and the British Council—to drive long-term positive change.

At the core of their operations is a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and climate resilience. The Earth spearheads several major ecological initiatives, including a dedicated "Plastic Free Saint Martin" campaign to safeguard the fragile coral ecosystem of Saint Martin Island from severe tourism-driven pollution. Deep in the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest, they lead the "busybee" project, which works directly with indigenous honey hunters (Mawalies) to introduce sustainable harvesting methods and secure eco-friendly livelihood alternatives. To cultivate the next generation of climate leaders, the NGO hosts "Climate Camp Bangladesh," a comprehensive advocacy program that mobilizes youth to pitch green business ideas (Climatepreneurs) and actively engage in ecosystem restoration.

Simultaneously, the organization places a heavy emphasis on youth training, community safety, and inclusive literacy campaigns. Through regional frameworks like the "Movers Programme," they utilize a peer-led training model to equip thousands of youths across the country with 21st-century digital skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and social awareness. Their structural resilience work includes partnering with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the "Participatory Earthquake Preparedness in School (PEPS)" program, where they deploy safety drills and training frameworks to high-risk primary schools. Furthermore, through culturally creative outreach such as the "Ekti Boi Ekti Bhubon" book-sharing project and the "Banglar Pandit" spelling competition, The Earth promotes widespread community education and peaceful pluralism across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
