Responsibilities & Context

Prantic Unnayan Society (PRANTIC), established in 1998, is a national non-profit organization working to improve the lives of marginalized people across 15 Upazilas in 8 districts of Bangladesh. Its programs focus on education, health, livelihoods, WASH, good governance, emergency response, and skills development.
The “Enabling Marketing & Production Opportunities for Women’s Economic Resilience (EMPOWER)” project supports women’s income generation by mechanizing sewing centres in Ukhiya and Camp-4, engaging 76 women (32 host + 44 Rohingya) to produce and market apparel.
The Accountant will be responsible for ensuring transparent and accurate financial management of the project, in compliance with PRANTIC’s financial policies and donor requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts
  • Maintain daily financial records, cash books, and ledgers.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports as per project requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with PRANTIC’s financial policies and donor regulations.

  • Support procurement processes and maintain proper documentation.

  • Track budgets, analyze variances, and monitor expenditures.

  • Ensure timely payments, advances, settlements, and staff reimbursements.

  • Support internal and external audits.

HR & Administration
  • Assist the HR Officer with HR-related tasks.

  • Maintain staff attendance and leave registers.

  • Report late arrivals and absences at the end of each month.

  • Supervise support staff and security personnel.

Logistics & Inventory
  • Maintain stock registers for local purchases and distribution.

  • Prepare monthly inventory reports.

  • Conduct physical verification and update stock records regularly.

  • Maintain documentation for storage, distribution, assets (with identification numbers), rental agreements, MoUs, NGO AB approvals, RRRC approvals, and other agreements.

Others
  • Provide support to program colleagues as needed.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
