Solid understanding of accounting standards and practices, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Practical experience using accounting tools such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, especially with advanced features like VLOOKUP and pivot tables
Familiar with managing general ledger activities
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong analytical thinking
Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA will be considered an advantage
Skills
Oversee and record all financial transactions
Develop and maintain budget projections
Ensure timely preparation and release of financial statements
Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings
Reconcile outstanding accounts, including payables and receivables
Ensure prompt processing of bank payments
Calculate and file taxes, including preparing tax returns
Maintain accurate balance sheets and income statements
Monitor and report on the hotel’s financial performance and liquidity status
Review and verify financial records through audits
Safeguard financial information confidentiality and perform data backups as needed
