Responsibilities & Context
1. Product Formulation and Development:
o Develop and optimize chemical formulations for various home and personal care products.
o Research and source raw materials, additives, and preservatives for product stability and efficacy.
o Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate product performance and shelf-life stability.
o Collaborate with marketing and R&D teams to align product specifications with market demands.
2. Process Management:
o Design and implement manufacturing processes that ensure consistency and quality in large-scale production.
o Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical mixing, blending, and packaging processes.
o Monitor and adjust chemical formulations to meet safety and quality standards.
3. Quality Assurance and Control:
o Develop and implement quality control protocols for raw materials and finished products.
o Conduct regular inspections, testing, and analysis to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for quality checks, testing procedures, and batch records.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
o Ensure all formulations and manufacturing processes comply with local, national, and international regulations.
o Keep abreast of regulatory changes and update processes as needed.
o Liaise with regulatory bodies for product registration, certifications, and safety data sheets (SDS).
5. Research and Innovation:
o Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and sustainable practices in the chemical industry.
o Identify opportunities for product improvement and cost optimization.
o Develop eco-friendly formulations and processes to align with sustainability goals.
6. Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
o Implement safety protocols for chemical handling, storage, and disposal.
o Train staff on safe handling of chemicals and emergency response procedures.
o Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.
7. Collaboration and Reporting:
o Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and R&D teams to ensure product consistency and quality.
o Prepare technical reports, product specifications, and batch production records.
o Provide technical support to production teams to resolve formulation or quality issues.
