Responsibilities & Context

  • Conduct technical analysis of garments/styles to identify the most efficient operational breakdowns.
  • Identify non-value-added (NVA) operations to improve Standard Minute Value (SMV) and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Analyze current manufacturing practices and propose innovations that reduce SMV, simplify operations, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Manage production schedules and coordinate services to maximize overall productivity.
  • Enforce quality control procedures to minimize waste.
  • Ensure the team prepares line-balancing layouts and shares them with the production team prior to production start.
  • Lead the Industrial Engineering (IE) team to enhance skills in alignment with operational needs.
  • Prepare machine plans in advance to ensure the necessary skills and equipment are available before starting new styles or operations.
  • Take responsibility for rapid changeovers between orders, ensuring target productivity is achieved in minimal time.
  • Develop and maintain a worker skill matrix for the factory, ensuring all recruitment aligns with skill requirements.
  • Lead the IE team in improving worker skill development programs (e.g., helper-to-operator programs) to achieve higher efficiency.
  • Conduct various analyses and studies to implement simplified and optimized methods, resulting in SMV reduction.
  • Regularly review team and individual KPIs to ensure alignment with department goals.
  • Participate in periodic meetings with marketing and production teams to understand upcoming orders and prepare skill and machine requirements for smooth production.
