  • Should have sound practical working knowledge and experience about all types of Compliance issues and BSCI, OEKO-Tex, SEDEX, WRAP, C-TPAT, GRS, GOTS, OCS compliance issues regarding buyers from Europe and USA, Canada Like Decathlon, Walmart etc.
  • Sound knowledge on Bangladesh Labor Act-2006 and Amendment act -2013 is must, Labor law 2015Should have sound knowledge in RSC, NIRAPON.
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent leadership quality
  • Adaptable, pro-active, innovative and must be able to work under pressure independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Should have excellent people management skills.

Responsibilities & Context

  • Ensure a safe and positive working environment that promotes the satisfaction of both employees and customers by adhering to local laws and maintaining high standards of integrity through regular compliance audits conducted by buyers and third-party organizations.
  • Implement and maintain compliance in accordance with buyer requirements, including social, technical, environmental, fire safety, building integrity, electrical safety, and other recognized standards such as WRAP, BSCI, SEDEX, HIGG, FCCA, C-TPAT, and buyer Codes of Conduct (COCs).
  • Lead the compliance team by assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, promoting teamwork, and ensuring all compliance and welfare officers perform their duties effectively
  • Provide regular on-the-job training and awareness programs to enhance the skills and development of subordinates.
  • Assist buyers' auditors and visitors to ensure successful completion of all audits and visits. Prepare Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) and implement solutions for any non-compliance issues raised.
  • Maintain strong and professional communication with buyers/customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and alignment with compliance standards.
  • Provide continuous support to Admin, HR, Fire Safety, Electrical, Civil, Production, and Quality departments to drive improvements aligned with both Bangladesh Labor Law and buyer compliance requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the smooth implementation and timely completion of RSC and NIRAPON activities.
  • Oversee and ensure all documentation is up-to-date, including:
  • Fire drills
  • Legal licenses
  • Internal and subcontractor audits
  • Welfare documentation
  • Testing reports
  • Drawings/designs
  • Company policies
  • Incident reports (accidents, maternity, health & safety)
  • Training records (chemical, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, newcomer orientation, health & safety, etc.)
  • Ensure the factory is always audit-ready for both scheduled and surprise visits to maintain strong relationships with buyers and avoid any potential misunderstandings.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and customers.
  • Monitor and follow up on corrective actions related to identified non-compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor standards, workplace health and safety regulations, and environmental protection laws.
  • Provide regular compliance updates and reports to department heads and senior management.
  • Work closely with departments in a consultative role to help line managers understand and implement policies and procedures.
  • Develop and execute environmental strategies and action plans that support corporate sustainability goals.
  • Ensure full implementation of buyer Codes of Conduct (COC), Bangladesh Labor Law 2006, and Labor Rules 2015.
  • Enforce welfare and health & safety measures in line with national labor laws, including childcare and medical facilities for workers.
  • Initiate and oversee training and development programs for mid-level management and workers to improve competency and awareness.
  • Participate in various committee meetings to identify and address issues across departments and implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct daily visits to the production floor to monitor compliance activities.
  • Assist in developing HR policies and procedures that align with company goals and buyer COC requirements.
  • Ensure all required licenses are current in coordination with the Admin and Commercial departments.
  • Regularly review audit histories and CAP reports to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the factory maintains full compliance with all relevant Bangladeshi labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
