Responsibilities & Context

  • Compliance with BEPZA Regulations: Ensure all human resources and administrative activities are strictly aligned with the rules, regulations, and directives of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA), as well as the relevant EPZ Labor Laws.

  • Social & Buyer Compliance Management: Supervise and enforce all aspects of social compliance, including working conditions, environmental standards, non-discrimination, anti-harassment, and workplace safety, to fully meet the expectations of international buyers and standards such as Sedex, BSCI, WRAP, and CTPAT.

  • Legal Documentation & Reporting: Maintain, update, and submit all required legal documentation and compliance reports to BEPZA, government authorities, and external auditors in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Workforce Planning: Develop and implement strategic manpower planning to fulfill the organization’s staffing requirements efficiently.

  • Recruitment & Selection: Oversee the complete recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, testing, and selecting candidates for worker, staff, and management roles in line with both company policy and BEPZA guidelines.

  • Employee Onboarding: Organize comprehensive orientation and induction programs for new employees to ensure they understand company policies, workplace safety, and compliance obligations.

  • Benefits & Welfare Administration: Manage employee benefits programs such as leave, provident fund, gratuity, insurance, and healthcare services.

  • Disciplinary Procedures: Implement and monitor company rules and policies to maintain a disciplined and professional work environment.

  • Grievance Handling: Serve as the primary contact for employee grievances, managing the entire resolution process and taking appropriate disciplinary action when required.

  • Worker-Management Relations: Foster positive communication and collaboration between workers and management, including active engagement with Workers' Participation Committees and Welfare Committees, where applicable.

  • Performance Management: Administer the performance appraisal system, overseeing goal setting, evaluation, and feedback to support continuous employee development.

  • Training & Development: Identify skill gaps, design training modules (particularly in compliance, safety, and technical skills), and implement training programs to enhance overall workforce capabilities.

  • Succession Planning: Identify high-potential employees and work on leadership development and internal promotions to ensure continuity in key roles.

  • External Liaison: Act as the official liaison with BEPZA, local government authorities, law enforcement agencies, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.
