Bangladesh Specialized Hospital (BSH) is looking for a committed and empathetic Pediatric & Neonatology Specialist to join our clinical team. This role will be responsible for supporting medical services in the Pediatrics and NICU/PICU departments, working in collaboration with senior consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. The position includes diagnosing and managing a range of pediatric conditions and overseeing critical neonatal procedures.
Assist in executing clinical activities under the guidance of the Pediatric & Neonatology Consultant
Take charge of departmental responsibilities when the Consultant is unavailable
Participate in ward rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making and treatment planning
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and submit activity reports to the department coordinator
Oversee patient flow, manage medical records, and ensure efficient data entry
Assess and admit pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department as required
Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilize critically ill newborns in the NICU
Carry out essential neonatal procedures, including:
Lumbar puncture
Endotracheal intubation
Umbilical catheter placement
Arterial line insertion
Arterial blood collection for gas analysis
IV cannulation
Insertion of orogastric and urinary catheters
Note: All invasive procedures must be done under supervision or after consulting the Consultant and Coordinator.
Provide ethical, compassionate, and respectful care at all times
Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations
Recommend diagnostic tests and document clinical evaluations accurately
Update and revise patient management plans based on clinical progress
Record daily progress notes, consent forms, referral letters, and discharge summaries promptly and precisely
