Additional Requirements

  • Web Development Expertise: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with hands-on experience using CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow, or Drupal. Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools like Figma is essential.

  • Mobile Application Development: Skilled in developing Android and iOS applications using Flutter, React Native, Java, or Kotlin, including integration with app stores and billing systems.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of API integration, cybersecurity principles, database management, and version control systems (e.g., Git), ensuring clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

  • Server & Deployment Knowledge: Basic familiarity with server management, deployment workflows, and current trends in digital technology.

  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to translate technical and functional requirements into intuitive, user-focused products, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.

  • Personal Attributes: Proactive, creative, and detail-oriented, with excellent time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Age Limit: Applicants must be under 26 years of age as of January 1, 2025.

Responsibilities & Context

The Young Professional (YP) will play a key role in supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of WaterAid Bangladesh’s diverse ICT and digital initiatives within the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector. This includes assisting in website and mobile application management, deployment processes, version control, and exploring innovative digital solutions to enhance program efficiency and impact.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience across a broad range of ICT projects while contributing directly to WaterAid’s mission and objectives.
As part of the Technical Services Department, the YP will collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance access to safe water, improved sanitation, and hygiene practices for all. WaterAid believes that innovative and strategic use of digital technologies is essential to achieving these goals. The YP will therefore be encouraged to explore, design, and implement creative technology-driven solutions that expand the organisation’s digital footprint and improve WASH outcomes.
