Assistant Manager – Supply Network Operations

 

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – Supply Network Operations will be responsible for managing warehouse activities, inventory control, supplier coordination, and distribution operations across ifarmer’s agri-input supply network. The position will ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, efficient order processing, and cost-effective logistics to support the expansion of KriShop’s retailer network.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Manage end-to-end warehouse activities, including goods receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, and returns.

• Ensure inventory accuracy through periodic stock audits, reconciliation, and timely system updates.

• Track damaged, slow-moving, and near-expiry products while ensuring compliance with FEFO inventory practices.

• Maintain warehouse safety, security, documentation, and operational compliance standards.

2. Supply Planning & Supplier Management

• Collaborate with Input and Sales teams to forecast demand, plan procurement, and ensure timely stock replenishment.

• Maintain supplier documentation, purchase orders, delivery timelines, and address product quality concerns.

• Assess stock-out and excess inventory risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.

3. Order Fulfillment & Distribution

• Ensure accurate and timely order processing and fulfillment through KriShop and other sales channels.

• Coordinate order confirmation, customer updates, warehouse transfers, and shipment dispatch.

• Track delivery performance and resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, unsuccessful deliveries, and returns.

4. Logistics & Cost Optimization

• Coordinate inbound shipments, inter-warehouse transfers, and outbound transportation.

• Evaluate courier and transport partner performance while monitoring logistics expenses.

• Improve shipment consolidation, packaging efficiency, delivery routes, and distribution coverage.

5. Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate system records for inventory movements, warehouse transfers, dispatches, and product returns.

• Prepare and monitor operational dashboards covering stock availability, inventory ageing, order fulfillment, and logistics expenditure.

• Establish and improve SOPs and operational workflows while coordinating with Product and Finance teams on system enhancements and reconciliation activities.

6. Team Management

• Lead, train, and evaluate warehouse officers and operational personnel to ensure effective performance.

• Allocate operational responsibilities and ensure adherence to established SOPs.

• Conduct regular warehouse inspections and audits to uphold operational efficiency and compliance.
