Plumbing Trainer - Level 1

 

• Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, or construction-related projects.

• Previous experience as a trainer/instructor in a TVET or skills development institution will be an added advantage.

• Strong knowledge of plumbing installation, maintenance, sanitary systems, and related practices.

• Good understanding of Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).

• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements and relevant plumbing industry standards.

• Ability to work according to training schedules, batch requirements, and organizational needs.

Modern Skill Development Center is a vocational skills training organization focused on providing competency-based technical education aligned with National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) standards. The center works to develop practical, industry-relevant skills through structured training programs designed to improve trainees’ technical capabilities and employability.

 

As part of its skills development initiatives, the center is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to join as a Part-Time Plumbing Trainer – Level 1, supporting hands-on plumbing training and competency-based assessment.

• Deliver theoretical and practical plumbing training in line with NSDA Competency Standards and Curriculum.

• Prepare lesson plans, training materials, practical demonstrations, exercises, and assessment tools.

• Train participants in pipe measurement, cutting, threading, joining, water supply and drainage systems, sanitary fixtures, and proper use of plumbing tools.

• Demonstrate safe and effective operation of plumbing tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.

• Ensure compliance with OHS, workplace safety requirements, and relevant industry standards.

• Conduct formative and summative assessments according to NSDA CBTA guidelines.

• Monitor trainee attendance, performance, and competency development.

• Maintain attendance records, assessment documents, logbooks, and training reports.

• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory of workshop equipment and training materials.

• Support monitoring, quality assurance, audits, and NSDA compliance activities.

• Develop trainees’ communication, teamwork, workplace ethics, and employability skills.

• Coordinate with the Training Manager to ensure effective delivery of training programs.
