Sample QA Manager

Technical & Quality Control

• Review tech packs, design sheets, and BOMs to ensure all required information is complete and accurate.

• Inspect incoming fabrics, trims, threads, and other materials to verify compliance with buyer-approved specifications.

• Conduct mock-up and initial fit reviews to identify potential construction and bulk production risks.

• Verify pattern measurements against approved specification sheets before fabric cutting.

• Conduct 100% measurement inspections of samples before and after washing prior to buyer submission.

• Review and approve final samples, providing internal “OK to Ship” clearance before dispatch.

Process Management & Risk Mitigation

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential sewing, washing, fabric, and construction issues during the sampling stage.

• Prepare detailed defect reports covering sample rejections, alterations, and structural issues.

• Lead pre-production (PP) meetings and communicate critical sample quality points to the bulk production team.

• Develop and standardize SOPs for sample cutting, sewing, finishing, and quality control processes.

• Follow up on corrective actions based on comments received from the buyer’s QA team.

• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurring issues.

Communication & Coordination

• Coordinate closely with merchandisers to understand and fulfill specific buyer requirements.

• Work with pattern makers and sample teams to address fitting issues and implement buyer comments.

• Communicate with buyers and buyer technicians to resolve concerns related to fit, construction, and aesthetic standards.

• Provide technical guidance to sample room in-charges and supervisors to address recurring quality issues.

Team Leadership & Data Management

• Train and guide sample QC personnel on buyer-specific quality standards, manuals, and measurement tolerances.

• Monitor key quality indicators, including Sample Right-First-Time (RFT) rates and rejection percentages.

• Maintain accurate sample records, including buyer comments, approved counter-samples, and sealed sample details.
