Technical Support Service Officer (Livestock)

Animal Health & Technical Advisory

• Provide technical livestock support to borrowers through field visits, phone calls, messaging and digital advisory platforms.

• Advise livestock and mixed-farming households on modern animal husbandry practices.

• Assist with vaccination, deworming and basic treatment for cattle, goats and poultry.

• Educate farmers on vaccination, biosecurity, nutrition and proper livestock management.

• Address routine animal health and husbandry issues and refer complex cases to senior technical personnel.

• Provide basic agricultural guidance within the scope of assigned training.

Training & Capacity Building

• Conduct practical demonstrations and on-the-job training on animal health, disease prevention, feeding and nutrition.

• Support borrower orientation and seasonal training programmes at branch level.

Input, Insurance & Market Linkage

• Guide farmers and local dealers on the safe and proper use of feed, animal health products and equipment.

• Assist with livestock insurance enrolment, awareness and claim-related documentation.

• Connect farmers and dairy producers with veterinary services, feed suppliers and local markets.

Monitoring, Records & Reporting

• Identify local farming needs, monitor technical support activities and report progress to senior officers.

• Maintain accurate records of vaccinations, treatments and other technical services.

• Verify borrower information and loan classifications in the management information system and report discrepancies.

• Assist in preparing project reports, success stories and field-based learning reports.

Coordination

• Coordinate communication among programme participants, farming groups, dealers and the Agriculture Unit.

• Liaise with the Department of Livestock Services, Upazila Livestock Offices and other relevant organisations.

Programme Compliance

• Provide technical services only within assigned branches and follow designated research-control-area restrictions.

• Ensure activities are conducted in line with programme objectives and guidelines.

Mobility & Additional Duties

• Travel within assigned branches and provide support at other locations when required.

• Perform other programme-related duties as assigned.
