Key Responsibilities
IPD (Inpatient Department) Billing
Prepare accurate and complete final bills at the time of patient discharge.
Generate and update inpatient bills throughout the patient’s stay using hospital billing software.
Record all applicable charges, including doctor consultations, diagnostic tests, surgeries, medicines, and consumables.
Coordinate with Nursing, Pharmacy, Diagnostics, and other relevant departments to ensure all services are properly billed.
Complete discharge billing within the required timeframe while maintaining billing accuracy and patient satisfaction.
OPD (Outpatient Diagnostic Services) Billing
Process and generate accurate bills for pathology, radiology, and other diagnostic services.
Verify prescriptions and test requisitions before preparing bills.
Enter patient information and investigation details accurately into the billing system.
Assist patients with payment procedures, billing queries, and report collection-related information.
Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with patients.
Admission Billing
Explain admission procedures, estimated costs, deposits, and billing processes to patients and attendants.
Initiate billing for newly admitted patients through the hospital software.
Verify and record patient information, admission details, deposits, and initial service charges.
Coordinate with the Admission Desk and relevant departments regarding new admissions, cancellations, and status changes.
Ensure all billing transactions comply with hospital policies and financial procedures.
Software & Billing Operations
Operate hospital billing software for data entry, charge posting, invoice generation, and receipt issuance.
Handle basic software-related issues and coordinate with the IT team for technical problems.
Maintain accurate electronic billing records and backup documentation.
Payment & Reconciliation
Receive and record payments through cash, card, bKash, insurance, and corporate accounts.
Issue payment receipts and reconcile daily collections with the Accounts/Finance Department.
Maintain proper documentation for insurance and credit-based clients.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly billing and collection reports.
Maintain organized digital and physical billing documents.
Submit required reports and data to the Finance Department and Management within deadlines.
Patient Support
Assist patients and attendants with billing-related queries in a polite and professional manner.
Address billing discrepancies, payment-related concerns, and outstanding dues.
Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times.
Compliance & Coordination
Follow hospital policies, financial guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate with Reception, Diagnostics, Finance, Medical Records, and other relevant departments.
Perform duties according to assigned morning, evening, or night shifts.

Job Purpose
Provide safe, ethical, evidence-based, and patient-centred nephrology care, including the diagnosis and management of kidney diseases and supervision of dialysis services. The Specialist will contribute to high-quality inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and dialysis services in compliance with hospital policies and applicable medical standards in Bangladesh.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with renal and related medical conditions.
Provide outpatient consultation and follow-up care for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Manage AKI, CKD, nephrotic syndrome, glomerular diseases, diabetic kidney disease, hypertensive nephropathy, electrolyte imbalances, and acid-base disorders.
Provide nephrology consultations for hospitalized patients and referrals from other departments.
Review renal function tests, electrolytes, urinalysis, imaging, and other relevant investigations.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patients’ clinical progress.
Adjust medications appropriately based on patients’ renal function.
2. Dialysis Services
Evaluate patients for initiation and continuation of renal replacement therapy.
Prescribe and supervise hemodialysis based on individual patient needs.
Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis sessions.
Identify and manage dialysis-related complications, including blood pressure abnormalities, cramps, arrhythmia, electrolyte disturbances, infections, and fluid imbalance.
Assess dialysis adequacy and monitor relevant laboratory parameters.
Evaluate dialysis access-related complications and coordinate with surgical or interventional teams when required.
Participate in urgent and emergency dialysis management.
Maintain accurate records of dialysis prescriptions, treatment progress, complications, and follow-up.
3. Inpatient & Emergency Care
Provide nephrology consultation and support for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
Manage AKI, fluid and electrolyte disorders, acid-base disturbances, and renal complications associated with systemic diseases.
Coordinate patient care with ICU, Emergency, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Urology, Surgery, and other relevant departments.
Attend urgent nephrology and dialysis cases according to hospital duty and on-call arrangements.
4. Patient & Family Counseling
Explain diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up plans clearly to patients and their attendants.
Counsel patients on CKD progression, medication adherence, fluid restriction, dietary management, blood pressure and diabetes control, and dialysis care.
Educate eligible patients about renal replacement therapy options, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and kidney transplantation.
Maintain respectful, compassionate, and professional communication with patients and families.
5. Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention and control standards within the dialysis unit.
Follow protocols for dialysis-unit hygiene, sterilization, disinfection, biomedical waste management, and prevention of blood-borne infections.
Promote patient safety and report adverse events or clinical incidents promptly.
Ensure appropriate screening, isolation, and infection-control measures for dialysis patients.
6. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate patient files, consultation notes, dialysis prescriptions, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
Ensure proper documentation of informed consent and relevant clinical procedures.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and applicable laws and regulations in Bangladesh.
7. Quality Improvement & Administration
Participate in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and departmental meetings.
Assist in developing and updating nephrology and dialysis protocols, guidelines, and SOPs.
Monitor dialysis service quality indicators and recommend corrective measures when necessary.
Promote appropriate utilization of dialysis resources, medicines, investigations, and medical equipment.
Participate in hospital accreditation and regulatory compliance activities as required.
8. Teaching & Professional Development
Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and training to junior doctors, nurses, and dialysis staff.
Participate in case discussions, CME programs, clinical meetings, and departmental training.
Stay updated with current nephrology and dialysis guidelines, research, and evidence-based clinical practices.
9. Duty & Working Arrangement
Work six (6) days per week according to the hospital-approved duty roster.
Provide inpatient, emergency, and dialysis services as assigned.
Participate in dialysis rounds, nephrology consultations, and emergency/on-call duties.
Attend urgent nephrology and dialysis cases, including emergency dialysis, when required.
Working hours and on-call responsibilities will be determined by departmental needs and hospital policies.
Work extended hours, weekends, or public holidays when required by the approved duty roster.
Ensure proper patient handover, complete documentation, and continuity of patient care.
