Project Brief The project is designed to strengthen climate-resilient and gender-responsive urban health systems in Barishal City Corporation. It focuses on addressing climate-related health challenges such as dengue, water- and skin-borne diseases, heat-related illnesses, and nutrition vulnerabilities. The initiative will improve access to integrated primary healthcare and sexual and reproductive health services, including cervical cancer screening, while enhancing community preparedness, prevention, referral, and early healthcare-seeking practices. The project will also generate evidence and promote community participation to develop inclusive, sustainable, and locally driven climate-health solutions for vulnerable and climate-affected communities. Job Purpose The Manager, Technical will provide technical leadership and guidance for effective project implementation, ensuring quality health service delivery, evidence generation, and capacity building of frontline healthcare workers. The position will oversee the planning and field-level implementation of ANC, PNC, mental health, and cancer screening activities while coordinating with government authorities and relevant stakeholders to ensure evidence-based practices and achieve quality project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide technical guidance and support for implementing project activities related to maternal and newborn health, including ANC and PNC, mental health, cancer screening, and climate-sensitive healthcare services. Organize and oversee medical camps in selected locations to ensure essential healthcare services reach vulnerable and underserved populations. Monitor field operations to ensure compliance with public health standards and facilitate safe delivery of primary healthcare services in response to climate-related health risks and disease outbreaks. Develop, review, and update technical tools, training materials, SOPs, and implementation guidelines to support effective project delivery. Plan and facilitate training, orientation, and refresher sessions for Paramedics and Community Health Workers to strengthen their technical capacity. Conduct regular field visits, monitoring, and supervision to assess implementation progress, identify challenges, and initiate appropriate corrective measures. Lead and support evidence-generation activities, including assessments, operational research, case studies, documentation of lessons learned, and dissemination of key findings. Safeguarding Responsibilities Ensure the protection and safety of programme participants, team members, and all individuals interacting with the organisation from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, and sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). Provide guidance and technical support on safeguarding practices and contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful working environment. Promote awareness and adherence to safeguarding policies among team members and ensure safeguarding standards are integrated into all project activities and decisions. Follow established safeguarding reporting procedures for any reportable incidents and encourage team members to promptly report concerns or incidents.

Medical Officer, Hard to Reach, BRAC Health Programme (BHP)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver comprehensive clinical care at BRAC PHCs located in hard-to-reach Char and Haor areas, including patient consultation, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Travel to remote Char and Haor communities and stay overnight at designated PHCs when necessary to maintain uninterrupted healthcare services. Provide complete ANC services, including pregnancy risk assessment, counselling, early detection and management of complications, timely referral, and follow-up. Conduct obstetric ultrasonography (USG) as an essential part of comprehensive antenatal care. Examine and manage newborns, children, adolescents, and patients presenting with common acute and chronic health conditions at the primary healthcare level. Screen, evaluate, treat, counsel, and monitor patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially hypertension and diabetes. Recognise high-risk pregnancies and maternal or newborn danger signs, provide immediate and appropriate care, and facilitate timely referral and follow-up. Review laboratory, diagnostic, and point-of-care test results and make appropriate clinical decisions based on the findings. Work closely with midwives, paramedics, CHWs, and other PHC team members while providing clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship on patient care and referral procedures. Maintain compliance with BRAC clinical protocols, national healthcare guidelines, infection prevention and control practices, and established quality-of-care standards. Provide compassionate, patient-centred, and high-quality clinical services in challenging and resource-limited environments. Undertake any other clinical or programme-related duties assigned by the supervisor. SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES: Promote a safe and respectful working environment by protecting team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation and supporting the effective implementation of safeguarding measures. Serve as a reliable source of guidance, support, and safeguarding expertise for team members to ensure a safe workplace. Promote, uphold, and actively implement safeguarding policies and standards across all programme activities and team practices. Programme Organiser, IDP – Key Responsibilities Mobilise poor and ultra-poor households through Village Development Organisations (VDOs), conduct regular meetings, raise awareness of rights and entitlements, and facilitate community-level problem-solving. Plan and coordinate field-based training sessions, workshops, awareness activities, observation days, and community events in accordance with programme objectives. Monitor the delivery of maternal health services by SKs and SSs, including birth preparedness, postnatal care (PNC), and timely processing of related incentives. Establish, manage, and monitor BPS/BPPS schools in line with BRAC Education Programme standards and guidelines. Identify ultra-poor households and support them with appropriate training, asset or soft-loan transfers, regular household visits, and future-oriented planning. Facilitate access to Legal Aid services and organise community engagement activities such as Popular Theatre and CD shows according to programme requirements. Encourage agricultural development by promoting improved technologies, crop diversification, alternative livelihood opportunities, and initiatives such as vaccination camps. Supervise and coordinate with local service providers, including PLEWs, agriculture and fisheries extension workers, and AI technicians, to ensure effective community-level service delivery. Raise awareness about climate adaptation, provide community support during natural disasters, and promote improved sanitation, hygiene, and WASH practices. Prepare and submit accurate monthly MIS reports, case studies, programme learnings, and identified challenges to the Area Manager within the required timeline. Safeguarding Responsibilities Promote a safe environment for programme participants, staff, and all individuals associated with the organisation by preventing and addressing harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, exploitation, and sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA).
