PROTTYASHI

PROTTYASHI, founded in 1983 by Mrs. Monowara Begum in the village of Akubdondi, Chottogram District, Bangladesh, started as a small health initiative and has grown into a prominent national non-governmental organization. Over the years, it has significantly impacted social development issues, earning the Prime Minister’s Award for Mother and Child Health in 2002. With a focus on empowering women and improving rural and urban communities, PROTTYASHI offers healthcare, education, livelihood opportunities, and climate-adaptive WASH services. The organization also advocates for human rights, labor rights, and social justice.

In response to the Rohingya crisis, PROTTYASHI has been a leading organization, providing critical support in the camps and host communities of Cox’s Bazar and Bhasanchar. Through a range of services such as livelihood assistance, skills development, education, and healthcare, it aims to build resilience among affected populations. The organization's inclusive approach ensures that marginalized groups, particularly women, receive skill development and sustainable livelihood opportunities, helping them achieve economic stability. PROTTYASHI continues to prioritize accountability, diversity, teamwork, and empathy in all its endeavors.
