Ventura Leatherware Mfy (BD) Ltd, a sister concern of Hong Kong’s renowned The Well Group, began operations in 2012 within the Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Nilphamari, Bangladesh. The Well Group, founded in 1957, is a leading global manufacturer of high-end leather handbags, and Ventura mirrors this expertise locally.
Since starting as a small training centre with just 70 staff, Ventura has grown into a major exporter—shipping over 250,000 leather goods monthly and achieving over $90 million in annual exports, primarily to the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, China, and the EU .
Today, Ventura employs several thousand local workers (over 4,300 during the pandemic, and reportedly up to 5,000–10,000 overall) , and produces leather products for some of the world’s top fashion brands.
The company places strong emphasis on employee welfare, with initiatives including health programs, COVID-19 safety measures, PPE distribution, nutrition and hygiene training for women workers, and regular motivational outreach—even during challenging times.
