Village Education Resource Center (VERC) is a non-governmental organization that began its work in 1977 as a joint initiative of Save the Children USA and UNICEF. It was formally registered as a legal entity under the Societies Registration Act in 1981, later registering with the Department of Social Services in 1989 and the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.
VERC works to empower poor and marginalized communities by helping them improve their circumstances and achieve self-reliance. The organization continually adapts to the emerging needs of the communities it serves and partners with a wide range of local, national, and international NGOs, as well as government agencies, to advance shared goals in social development.
Since its inception, VERC has been involved in diverse development initiatives across Bangladesh, implementing its activities in an organized and strategic manner through consultation with community members and development partners.
